Next Generation of VolunteersVista

AmeriCorpsVISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is a national service program that taps into the skills, talents and passion of more than 7,000 Americans annually to support community efforts to overcome poverty. The VISTA Summer Associate program offers individuals the opportunity to become engaged in a community through an existing VISTA project, like Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix (BGCMP), for 8 to 10 weeks during the summer. This summer, BGCMP welcomed 12 VISTA Summer Associates, including some former Club Kids. The VISTA project is a great opportunity for graduating Club kids to stay engaged with the Clubs in a meaningful way as they get ready to transition into college. In addition, this service learning program is training the next generation of volunteers.

Local Club Gets TLC for RED Day

Keller Williams Realty and Sherwin Williams employee volunteers gathered together to celebrate RED Day 2016 on May 12 to improve the Tri-City/Thornwood Branch. RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is Keller Williams Realty's annual day of service. Each year, on the second Thursday of May, associates spend the day away from their businesses serving worthy organizations and causes in their communities. The Tri-City/Thornwood Branch is the fifth Club RED Day volunteers have generously contributed to. This year, the volunteers helped paint and clean the Tri-City/Thornwood Branch. Thanks to RED Day Volunteers!

 Tax Credit

Deepen your impact in the community by giving more through the Arizona State Tax Credit to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix today!

The Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations (formerly the Working Poor Tax Credit) recently doubled to $400 for single filings and $800 for couples filing jointly.  You can read about it by clicking here.

If you already gave a donation to a Non-Profit Organization this year that qualifies for the Tax Credit, you may now do double the good and impact another part of the community.

Please visit BGCMP.org and click on the “Donate” button to help support over 30,000 Valley kids.  Is the entire amount of the increase pushing your budget right now?  You may make smaller gifts over the remainder of the year that will equal the full tax credit by the end-of-the-year.

For questions or more information, contact Tim Emory at (602) 343-1204 or email temory@bgcmp.org.

Please take full advantage of this program and thank you for giving our Club kids the opportunity to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Arizona Coyotes Foundation

AZ CoyotesOur heartfelt appreciation goes out to the Arizona Coyotes and the Arizona Coyotes Foundation for its partnerships with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix (BGCMP) throughout the years. Along with Anthony LeBlanc, who is a member of the Board of Directors with BGCMP, the foundation plays a key role in helping our organization. The Arizona Coyotes Foundation seeks to enhance the quality of life throughout Arizona communities by supporting non-profit organizations, like BGCMP, that promote healthcare, education, and cultural arts programs for children.

In 2015, the Coyotes were a large sponsor for our culinary event “Dish It Out”, provided a significant grant that supported our Healthy Lifestyles program, and this year, we will partner in a motorcycle raffle.

Be on the lookout this fall for an opportunity to win a custom motorcycle! Legendary bike designer Paul Yaffe is currently creating a custom Arizona Coyotes Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Raffle tickets will be for purchase this season benefitting BGCMP & the Arizona Coyotes Foundation.

Thank you Arizona Coyotes and the Coyotes Foundation for your immeasurable contributions and support to keep our Club Kids active and safe!
