Introducing the 2016 Youth of the Year

Stars 2016

Every child who attends the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix (BGCMP) is unique, yet there are some youth who have exceptional stories of courage, determination and triumph.

Each year, BGCMP selects one of these teens from each of its 13 branches. From there, they are placed into Journey, a 16-week development program, to further their personal growth, experience the value of teamwork, improve public speaking skills and become even more confident in the pursuit of their goals.

To celebrate their accomplishments and contributions, all 13 youth will be honored on March 19, 2016, at the Today’s Kids, Tomorrow’s Stars event at the Arizona Biltmore, and one will be named “2016 Youth of the Year.”

Featuring a fabulous evening of fine food, an energetic live auction of luxury vacations and world-class experiences, and an extensive silent auction of more than 200 items, Today's Kids, Tomorrow's Stars is one of the Valley's most highly anticipated events of the year.

In addition to recognizing these teens, the event will honor Champions of Giving, Bob and Renee Parsons, for their unwavering dedication to supporting children throughout the Valley.

Each Youth of the Year (YOY) is a leader among their peers and represents hundreds of Club members. Congratulations to our 2016 Youth of the Year!

Thank You for Making the Season Bright Thank you!

Thank you to all who donated time and money during last year’s holiday season to make the Christmas season bright for all of our Club members!

From the toys collected to the support at Club holiday parties, we appreciate your support. The smiling faces of the kids made the holidays joyous for all those involved.

In addition, a huge thank you goes out to all who donated via the Working Poor Tax Credit. You made a difference in bringing much-needed and life-changing programs to Valley Club members.

Fox Sports Arizona

In this month’s sponsor spotlight, we are honoring Fox Sports Arizona (FSAZ).

As the exclusive cable television home of sports teams such as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Coyotes, Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals, FSAZ invests in the local community and is dedicated to recognizing great character in our Club kids.

From sponsoring the Today’s Kids, Tomorrow's Stars event to filming Youth of the Year interviews and commercials for our premier culinary event, Dish It Out, FSAZ helps us to promote our events with flair and fun. In addition, FSAZ sponsors a basketball league in many of our Clubs to encourage good sportsmanship, honesty and healthy living.

Even more, the channel features one Club kid as the “FSAZ Character Counts Kid of the Month.”

A special thank you to the staff at FOX Sports Arizona for contributing to the growth and development of our Club kids. We couldn’t do it without your support!
